Map and compass skills are an important set of tools for any backpacker, day hiker or adventurer. Not only do they help provide a safe and enjoyable experience, but they also open the door for exploration. No matter where you are, a map and compass will not fail you as long as you know how to use it. These navigation tools also don't rely on satellite signal or batteries.
