About The Event

Join us for a special Fall Hike Series guided hike on the Tunxis Trail. We will travel 4.5 miles at a moderate pace through hardwood forest of northern Connecticut. Highlights will include: a pine grove, Wolf Tree, the historic Indian Council Caves and the possibility of seeing moose or bear in this beautiful state forest.

This out-and-back hike is being held as part of the Blue Blaze Fall Hike Series in celebration of the 90th anniversary of Connecticut's Blue Blaze Hiking Trail System (1929-2019).

Each hiker will be provided with bottled water, snack, sunblock & insect repellent. A daypack, waist pack or jacket with pockets to carry these items is recommended. You may want to pack The Ten Essentials of hiking with you (your guide will have these items too). Proper hiking clothing (no cotton) and footwear (hiking boots, hiking shoes or trail runners) are important for a safe and enjoyable experience.

For questions or concerns please feel free to contact Mat Jobin at matjobin@reachyoursummit.net or (203) 695-8748.

RSVP Required. A trip itinerary will be emailed to all participants with signup confirmation.

This free hike is sponsored by Reach Your Summit and Connecticut Forest & Park Association.
